Córdoba is the capital of the province of Córdoba and one of the most interesting cities of Andalusia. In ancient times it was an Iberian and Roman city and in the Middle Ages it became the capital the Islamic caliphate, which can still be seen in the architecture of the city.
It has been estimated that in the 10th century and beginning of the 11th century, Córdoba was the city with the most inhabitants in the world. During these centuries Córdoba became the intellectual centre of Europe.
When visiting Córdoba you cannot miss the ‘Jewish quarter’, ‘the Mezquita’ and ‘the Alcazar’.
